Alturas joins observance of Fire Prevention Month
As part of the nationwide observance of Fire Prevention Month of March, the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC), in cooperation with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), conducted a fire drill last February 19, in the afternoon at the vicinity near the Alturas Corporate Center, participated in by members of the Alturas Fire Brigade, some volunteer groups, employees and BFP personnel.
During the drill, AGC corporate employees took part in the fire outbreak simulation and followed by the quick emergency response of BFP fire trucks, AGC first aide teams and the Tarsier 911 ambulance.
For many years, the Alturas Fire Brigade has been cited by the BFP as one of the best in the region because of its unwavering support and commitment in the fight against fires that threaten human lives and inflict damages on properties.
Recently, series of fires broke out in Baclayon, Talibon and a big one here in Tagbilaran City which cost millions of pesos in damages and left hundreds of families homeless. Luckily, no one was hurt and there were no casualties. Through the coordination of LGU, Alturas immediately send packed goods and other assistance to some victims.
Aside from participating in the different seminars and lectures on fire prevention, AGC is also actively involved in the awareness or dissemination of information about the danger of fires through hanging of tarpauline streamers provincewide which bears the theme, “Ligtas na Pilipinas Ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog ay Palawakin.”
