Alturas offers livelihood for displaced workers

As a way of helping workers who are forced to leave due to the imminent threat of CoViD-19, the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC), through its Marcela Foundation, Inc., introduces a livelihood assistance program which will let them get involved in backyard gardening and fish farming.

Coordinated by the Provincial Government of Bohol, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Agricultural Promotion Center (APC), and Landbank, the Alturas Bayanihan livelihood program is open to all displaced workers who are interested and willing to farm at home just to sustain or even earn a living.

Fertilizers, seeds, and some basic tools are provided free in backyard gardening; while tilapia fries or semilya and starter feeds for the first 30 days are also given free in fish farming. Those who avail will undergo a brief training with technical support.

Basic requirement in backyard gardening is a land space, either front or backyards, with enough water supply; while a land at least 25 square meters with enough water supply is needed in fish farming.

To avail and for more details, just apply or inquire at AGC Corporate Marketing Department, and look for Mrs. Guy Bernaldez or Junrey Villasan, or call 501-3000, local 1336/1337, or 09178014709.
