Alturas honors its scholarship achievers

The Alturas Group of Companies gives due recognition to its scholars who just earned their college degrees, especially those who graduated last month with flying colors and Latin honors.

Twenty-year old Jessa Mae Bautista of Lourdes, Cortes, is among those outstanding scholars who received a P5,000 gift cheque for being a cum laude. She completed her BS in Office Systems Management course at BISU-Main, and attended the graduation ceremony last March 27, together with other scholars Beverly Jeneath Cajes, BS in Psychology; Angie Bacolod and Benedicto Amora, BS in Civil Engineering; and Erlyn Belano, BS in Fisheries (BISU-Calape).

Alturas scholars Kenneth Ulyco Argamosa of Tubigon and Marlon Bachinilla of G-Hernandez also graduated BS in Geodetic Engineering and BS in Electrical Engineering, respectively, last March 23, at UB.

Mrs. Nancy A. Doydora, the designated coordinator of the Alturas Scholarship Program, said other Alturas scholars who are currently reviewing for their board examinations; as well as those who are already professionals in their own right, are also recognized by the company for their sheer hardwork, dedication and determination to succeed in their studies.

Four other Alturas scholars who are graduates of BS in Architecture at BISU-Main are now reviewing hard for the board examinations scheduled in June, this year. They are Jenevib Sumagang, Baclayon; Juvelyn Balbon, Dimiao; Raquel Angelica Bagnol, Loay; and Choramae Matildo, Loboc. All of their tuition fees, books, lodging, meals, transportation and allowances are shouldered by the company.

Alturas is also proud of its pioneer scholars who are now working professionally, like CPA Fanie Abuyo of Sagbayan, who was a magna cum laude graduate of BS in Accountancy in UB, and is now absorbed by the company working as a Jr. Finance Officer at the Alturas Head Office; CPA Floreme Porlares of Tagb., another UB BS in Accountancy graduate, who now serves as Jr. Supervisor of the Alturas Accounting Department; and Stephen John Bolotaolo, a CPA from Dauis who graduated Magna Cum Laude from UB, who now works as Jr. Auditor of the Alturas Internal Audit Department.

Three Alturas scholars also became civil engineers after finishing BS in Civil Engineering at UB last year, and are now employed as Jr. Project Supervisors at the Planning, Designs, & Construction Department of Alturas. They are Engr. Joylen Galagala, from Jagna; Engr. Bryan Sarte of San Miguel; and Engr. Ronald Calamba of Catigbian, a Magna Cum Laude graduate who also came out as one of the top 5 reviewees.

According to Mrs. Doydora, Alturas is nothing but so proud about the success of its scholars who must serve as inspiration to others. She added the company is grateful to them for living up to the expectation to pursue and finish their studies, while at the same time working in order to gain the experience and diploma which are both needed in this competitive world of employment.

Likewise, the scholars heartily conveyed their gratitude to the Alturas Group of Companies for helping them realize their dreams. Their parents also express the same sentiments thanking the company for helping them lighten the financial burden of their families through the scholarship program.

The Alturas Scholarship is among the many outreach programs of Alay Marcela Foundation, Inc., the corporate social responsibility arm of the Alturas Group of Companies, which is always in the forefront of extending hands to the community.
