LTO License Center opens at Alturas Mall
After opening the Temporary Offsite Printing Office (TOPO) at the Alturas Mall which helps expedite the solution to the problem on backlog regarding the issuance of drivers’ licenses, the local Land Transportation Office (LTO) opens its new licensing extension office located at the 4th Floor of the mall.
LTO Region VII Director Victor Emmanuel Caindec led the ceremonial ribbon cutting and blessing of the new office last September 18, together with Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II, Alturas Group of Companies (AGC) General Manager Marlito C. Uy, and Mr. Isabelito “Tatay Billy” Tongco, representing Cong. Edgar Chatto.
In his short message, Director Caindec was very grateful again to the AGC, through Mr. Uy, who always supports the LTO in a move to serve better and closer to the public.
The LTO official said the agency chooses the Alturas Mall for the TOPO and License Extension Office because of its hi-tech facilities, fully air-conditioned and more convenient to the public being situated in the downtown area.
The 44-year old LTO director also told the media last Wednesday that LTO will open more satellite offices in Panglao and Tubigon making it a total of seven LTO offices here in Bohol soon. As of now, LTO has five offices in Garcia-Hernandez, Talibon, Island City Mall, Alturas Mall, and its Main Office here in the City.
In the past few months, the local LTO office here had been besieged with complaints from the public because of incompetence, citing poor service and the long-standing delay and backlogs in the issuance of driver’s licenses, and not to mention the congestion of clients milling in front of the LTO office, and the fixers lurking around the vicinity.
In his assessment, the UP-graduate Caindec said the Tagbilaran office of LTO is too small for the services it caters, considering that the number of clients is quite increasing. He also noticed that the office was constructed decades ago and needs expansion by now.
